"One Wild Night"

Bon Jovi's first-ever live album provides proof that the band is still a world class act and has not been compromised by the Hollywood success of it's frontman and founder Jon Bon Jovi.

"One Wild Night" is a crisply performed 15-song collection that finds the New Jersey guys in terrific form and offering the greatest hits their illustrious career.

Besides being a career retrospective that includes all of the fan favorites such as "You Give Love a Bad Name," "Livin' On a Prayer," and "Wanted Dead or Alive," "One Wild Night" features cover songs that the band is fond of (and plays very well) like the Boomtown Rats' "I Don't Like Mondays," and the Neil Young classic "Rockin' in the Free World."

While records almost never capture the excitement of a concert, this collection comes close. It also snags the Bon Jovi musical playfulness. That frolic is evident on every song, but it is most pronounced on "Livin' on a Prayer" that concludes with a nod to the famous "Layla" guitar strum pioneered by Duane Allman with Eric Clapton.

If you missed out on tickets to Bon Jovi's upcoming two-night sellout at Giants Stadium in July, this disc is something for the pain.
